A Look at Everyone's Favorite Fuzzy Fabric B Y J E N N I F E R E L G I N T hey keep us warm on summer days spent in movie theaters and muse- ums where the air conditioning blasts on full arctic chill, as well as those calm winter weeks with a surprisingly pleasant weather forecast despite the date. The material is perfect for athletic warm-ups and cool-downs, as well as for the bleachers full of fans glued to the action. There's also an unashamed demographic of people who have clothes for leaving the house, and those for living in the house, and the switch between the two wardrobes can happen within moments of crossing the front door threshold. But we've come a long way since the days of re- garding the soft knit fabric we call fleece as sim- ply traditional outerwear or home-only pajamas. These garments are now as fashionable as they are functional, and the trends being served this season put the pieces front and center––no lon- ger as supporting cast members.
