Five former Boilermaker defensive ends, who are each included in Purdue���s Den of Defensive Ends, rank among the top 27 in the league in sacks. Anthony Spencer is tied for 15th with 10; Cliff Avril and Shaun Phillips have 9.5, tying them for 18th; Ryan Kerrigan is tied for 25th with 8.5; and Rob Ninkovich is tied for 27th with 8.0. Quarterback Drew Brees, a member of the Cradle of Quarterbacks, leads the NFL with 4,781 yards passing and 39 passing touchdowns. And in New Orleans��� win at Dallas on Sunday, he became the San Diego Chargers San Diego linebacker Shaun Phillips is tied for 18th in the NFL in sacks, one of five former Boilermakers in the top 27. first player in league history to record at least 4,500 yards in three consecutive seasons. Since 2010, Brees has 14,877 yards, the most in any three-year span in NFL history. Despite the play of several former Boilermakers, most notably Brees, Spencer and Ninkovich, Purdue is without a 2013 Pro Bowler, at least as of now. The announcement of the NFC and AFC teams were made Wednesday evening. It remains a possibility, however, that one or more will be added as others drop off the roster in coming weeks. Injury News Two former Purdue offensive linemen missed all or portions of their games on Sunday. Mike Otto was out of the lineup due to sickness, but he���s expected back for the Titans��� regular-season finale. Uche Nwaneri missed the second half of his Jaguars��� game with a concussion, which leaves his status in doubt for Jacksonville���s Week 17 game. On Wednesday, Jags��� coach Mike Mularkey announced that Nwaneri had not yet passed his concussion test and would be retested on Friday. If he couldn���t go, Steve Vallos was expected to start in his place. Two others also missed Week 16 action. Jet tight end Dustin Keller, who has had an injuryplagued season, was out due to a high-ankle sprain, while Raven safety Bernard Pollard missed because of a chest injury.
