At Renaissance Hotel properties, meeting planners get to take an unusual approach to meetings with its signature R.E.N. Meetings programme. The programme aims to bring aspects of the hotel's local destination into its events - think local-sourced flavours, creative event design and local 'navigators' (or guides) that will let you in on the best- kept local hideouts in the city. Hong Kong Ratchet up a circus With the benefit of the AIA 2018 Great European Carnival in town, the event team at Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong got creative with a carnival themed event for its exclusive VIP guests that showcased the city's Rethinking meetings design: Renaissance Hotels brings unexpected touches of culture and sensory experience to meetings. Asian yet cosmopolitan setting. Held off-property on the actual carnival grounds, the event featured elements of decor such as a life-sized London Bus and phone booth statues, which created social media-friendly moments for guests. The culinary fusion of Asian and European flavours with canapés such as spicy pork buns and an 'Asian slaw' was another nod to the European carnival theme against the backdrop of Hong Kong. During the event, guests could roam freely between an indoor lounge seating and outdoor balcony area overlooking the Victoria Harbour, where guests stayed warm with portable heaters.
