SEPTEMBER 2018 THE SHOP 47 FOR THE ENTHUSIAST, BY THE ENTHUSIAST Nakato, a veteran racer, started the Adrenaline Racing team before estab- lishing AR Auto Service in 2006 as an online parts reseller, which he operated out of his apartment. He opened the Lake Oswego shop in 2008, and his racing experience and love for the sport soon made it a local and regional go-to for track-prep services. "We are known for our track car setup, especially in terms of suspension," Sarukhanyan says. "If you want your car to handle right on the track and have good balance, we are the people who are recommended in the area." The shop works with mostly German and Japanese cars, particularly BMWs. Fixing leaks and making other repairs to BMWs are the most common tasks, while high-end suspension installs and performance alignments for street and track cars are also popular. Since handling the busy shop's work- load is such a challenging endeavor, Sarukhanyan says Adrenaline Racing isn't currently a full-time race team. But the crew still races under the banner as much as it can and plans to commit more time to the team this year. Nakato is a veteran driver at the NASA 25 Hours at Thunderhill and has won many other Pacific Northwest races, including the SCCA Northern Pacific Division National SSB. Members of AR Auto Service also race in the Lucky Dog Racing League and plan on competing in some Global Time Attack events and the Spec E46, a road-racing series based on BMW's E-46 chassis. AR Auto Service has built a reputation for track car setups and top-quality suspension upgrades. The shop works with mostly German and Japanese cars.
