SPECIAL FEATURE 10 SEP-OCT 2018 MEETINGS & CONVENTIONS MCMAG-ASIA.COM From seamless support to unique attractions, Gardens by the Bay works with planners to beautify immersive experiences Y our delegates are networking and engaging productively. But the hard part has yet to begin. Whether it is a cocktail reception, a gala dinner, or a social event, it is where planners have to be resourceful and think out of the box. Gardens by the Bay comes into the picture as a venue provider that understands the demands of a planner and works to full the criteria of creative and practical planning. Wow factor as a unique venue There is no need to create a theme or to dress up the venue for a dramatic impact. The Gardens comes 'ready-made' with unique traits that make an event distinctive. "Gardens by the Bay has the unique setting of both outdoor and indoor gardens, juxtaposed with the striking architecture of the cooled conservatories and Supertrees. The Gardens is able to take an event beyond the connes of a conventional ballroom or function hall, making it an ideal o-site venue for a networking event, cocktail reception or gala dinner," shared Alloysius Teng, senior assistant director, event venue sales, Gardens by the Bay. All under one roof Planners get extra mileage from their events when they are able to cut down on logistical and operational planning. The Gardens oers a seamless experience that takes delegates from team building and breakout sessions to cocktail reception and gala dinner. The Flower Field Hall set within the colourful garden of the Flower Dome is a popular venue. "By segregating the space with carefully curated decorations and props, planners can maximise its potential by holding a cocktail, semi- buet and post-dinner performance all in one location," suggested Kathryn Loh, general manager, SingExpress Travel. The outdoor ambience of the 600sqm Silver Leaf set under the canopy of Supertrees has also proven to be popular with delegates from the US and Europe. All it needs is glow furniture or light-up bars to really enhance your event, added Loh. An immersive experience Head into the Cloud Forest and go on a mist-lled walk that takes you to the 35-metre tall indoor waterfall. Delegates will also discover a limestone forest in the new Secret Garden that oers a glimpse of miniature orchids. From there, delegates may adjourn to the Supertree Grove for cocktails while enjoying the Garden Rhapsody, a light and sound extravaganza. An up-close experience can be enjoyed from the Secret Life of Trees, or on an aerial walkway 22m above ground at the exclusive Champagne @ OCBC Skyway. These special experiences create the X-factor that planners are looking for. Darren Tan, managing director, World Express shared: "It's magical, Avatar-like, and a great way to end o an evening."
