Grossi GoesOver By Jim Perry SANTA CRUZ, Cal. - Bob Grossi of santa Cruz will leave May 1 for a summer In England. He'llstllywithBlrmlngbam resident Eck Hyland. After arriving In England Grossi will choose a factory prepared Montesa motorcycle and leave on the racing tour with Arthur Browning. Browning is a factory rider for Greeves. Grossi will compete In the 250Cc class and will race In Germany, Holland, Belgium and SpaIn during his two- month time In Europe. Then he will return to the United States to race In the InterNational motocross series. He will be riding "out of" Moore and Sons shop In santa Cruz. Grossi's round trip ticket to England will be paId for by the Ridge Runners Motorcycle Club of santa Cruz. The class will meet from 8:00 a.m. unW noon and will be taught by Mr. Dale Martin, W.V.O.C. Instructor In motorcycle repaIr, who Is also an experienced cyclist and competition rider. ThIs Is a beginner's course and riding is confined to the school premises and It Is not designed for experienced riders. Motorcycles and helmets will be furnished by the school, however, enrollees may use their own helmets and cycles provided they meet safety and legal requirements. He Is well liked at the race track by all of his fellow racers and he has a great deal of respect for all of the riders. Kenny plans to go Professional next year. When he practices for Indoor racing he motodromes the side of a dry canal bank. BSA DEALER TESTS HIS PRODUCT Marvin Bell, a BSA dealer from Fort Worth, Texas recently made the 2,900 mile round trip to Los Angeles riding a new three-cylinder Rocket 3 to satisfy himseU about the new model, and to attend a dealer service school. He traveled through just about every kind of weather condition, Including rain Kenny says there are several reasons that he has done so well with his racing. One is the fact that his parents are" just great." They are willing to give up any plans they may have, to be at the races. Kenny said it Is great to know that no matter if you win or lose, some of the most Important people you know are there. Also Kenny say s that he has the greatest sponsor In the world. He is on the wrestling team at Modesto HIgh. This is Kenny's third year of racing. He Is sponsored by Cliff Aksland Motorcycle Shop In Manteca, California He rides a l00cc Suzuki and has had tremendous success, winning over 100 trophies. Among them are several sportsmanship awards and high point trophies. Also among his collection Is a beauty he won when he went to Athena, Oregon (Hodaka country) for an exhibition race. Also he picked up a trophy In san Diego, at the National Grand Prix for 100Cc only. Roberts Is a lUember of a three man racing team. The other two racers are black-plate numbers 3, Terry Sage of Stockton, California and #18 Cliff Aksland of Manteca. A Yamaha DT-l purchased by Paramount Studios was fitted with a Panavision camera for In-close action shots and the Viewfinders M,C" a club made up only of men in the movie trades, saw to it that the action was realistic. Recently a Viewfinders crew engaged In fisticuffs with a set of Hells Angels durIng the filming of a scaggy chopper epic. We are told the club members walked off the job rather than contribute their skills to another anti-motorcycle movie.
