8 FALL 2018 Interior designer Jenn Sanborn's inspired interiors for a couple who are downsizing. Nancy Berry, Editor And if you have a design project you would like to share, send us an email at nberry@nshoremag.com. W ELCOME TO THE THIRD ANNUAL BEST OF the North Shore Home Issue this fall. And congratulations to all of our Editors' and Readers' Choice winners! We consulted with design experts to select the Editors' Choice winners, and our readers chimed in with their favorites. In this issue, we announce the best of all things home—architect, inte- rior designer, landscape designer, antiques shop, and more! The full list begins on page 51. We also share loads of ideas and inspiration from the designers and architects around the region creat- ing dream homes for their clients and themselves. We visit Susan and Steve Howell of Howell Custom Building Group, who decided to renovate their family home (which they built in 1992) after their children went off to college. Turn to page 90 to see this New England timber frame home, which has undergone a stunnning renovation. For a historical carriage house in Newburyport, architect Andrew Sidford celebrates the outdoors by welcoming it inside. The old carriage house is flooded with natural light with the addition of skylights, bays, dormers, window walls, and more. Sidford also deftly creates outdoor living spaces for the couple to enjoy during warm weather. (Page 98.) Holly Gagne, principal designer and owner of Holly Gagne Interior Design, had her work cut out for her when she was tasked with designing a California boho feel for the interiors of a classic New England-style home. Gagne proves she was up to the challenge for this stunning yet relaxed interior of this Manchester home. (Page 104.) Interior designers Sally Wilson and John Kelsey of Wilson Kelsey Design have a clean canvas to start from when they design the interiors of a new Shingle-style home. The color palette is a dreamscape of soft, luscious colors and classic lines—with pops of vivid color. We hope this issue brings you great ideas from the top pros in the home design industry on the North Shore and beyond.
