Gold and Blacks Womens Hoops Lineups The Starters The Reserves KK Houser 22 G 5-6 Jr. Houser has compiled 30 assists in five Big Ten games, as she continues to do well in getting her teammates involved. But her own offense has been inconsistent, as her scoring average is down to 8.6 points per game in the conference, when shes shooting just 27.5 percent, including 18.5 percent from three-point range. Shes too good a shooter, however, for those perimeter percentages to continue much longer. Courtney Moses 15 G 5-7 Jr. Moses is living up to her preseason billing, when she was chosen an allleague player. During the conference, shes averaging 17.2 points per game. She had a huge performance vs. Ohio State, when her offense early she had six three-pointers through the first 22 minutes kept the Boilermakers ahead. Then, she made the play of the day late, with her steal and layup saving Purdue in the second OT. Dee Dee Williams 20 G 6-0 Jr. Williams has been a steady influence since being inserted into the starting lineup, and is giving more offensively than she has in previous years. Shes averaging 4.6 points per game in the Big Ten and hit a three-pointer in the third overtime of the Ohio State game to help ease Purdues path to victory. Shes a solid defender too, although at times she can be broken down one-on-one. Sam Ostarello 32 F 6-2 Sr. Few have enjoyed a three-game stretch as good as Ostarellos recent string. The senior is now averaging a doubledouble in all games this season and a more impressive 13.4 points and 14 rebounds per during the Big Ten, and thats despite an off-night at Iowa. A concern going forward is the right shoulder, which is very sore but not yet preventing Ostarello from playing. She needs to rest it as often as possible. Hayden Hamby 10 G 5-7 Fr. Hamby gave the Boilermakers solid minutes vs. Iowa, as the rookie played 13, grabbing four rebounds and scoring a point in Purdues loss. She is fundamentally sound, but hasnt gotten untracked offensively, hitting only one of her five three-point attempts during Big Ten play. Joslyn Massey 21 F 6-0 Fr. Massey missed a few games due to lingering effects of a concussion, but returned to play a minute vs. Iowa. It was her first minute during Big Ten play. Its hard not to like her athleticism, but shes got plenty of room to grow offensively, and Purdue has no need to rush her along. Liza Clemons 23 F 6-2 So. After offseason shoulder surgery, Clemons season started slowly. The problems been that it hasnt gotten hot. The sophomore forward, who was making a huge impact at the end of last season, hasnt found her niche yet this year. Shes played only 10 minutes in four Big Ten games and has only a couple rebounds to show for it. Camille Redmon 42 C 6-4 So. Against Iowas big front line, Redmon played five minutes and was productive, with a couple points and a couple rebounds. She could be valuable against the right kind of opponents, because she gives the Boilermakers length on the interior. But shes also raw from a skills point of view, so her minutes will be limited. Chantel Poston 43 SF 5-10 Sr. (5) Poston scored four points and had four rebounds in 17 minutes off the bench vs. Iowa, as she continues to try to come back from the knee injury that cost her much of the non-conference season. Her jumper has looked good, but she might not yet have the explosiveness that is a big part of her game. Taylor Manuel 50 PF 6-2 Fr. Manuel had slumped during the beginning of Big Ten play, but showed signs of coming out of it against Minnesota and Iowa. She had nine points and a rebound against the Gophers, then a career-high 12 rebounds with six points vs. the Hawkeyes. Purdue, in search of steady reserves, needs that kind of production regularly from Manuel. Drey Mingo 24 F 6-2 Sr. (6) In the Big Ten, Mingo is shooting better than 50 percent from the field, a sign that her offense is coming around now after she sat out last season with a knee injury. Shes averaging 13.6 points per game in the last five outings. But her outside shot, a strength a couple years ago, has yet to come back; shes shooting only 25-percent from three-point range. In the last week, Mingo battled some flu-like symptoms. April Wilson 25 G 5-7 Fr. Wilson missed the Minnesota game because of flu-like symptoms, a sickness that caused Mingo and Houser to miss practice time over the last week-and-a-half, too. She returned to play 18 minutes vs. Iowa and contribute five points, four steals and a rebound. The Shelf Bays and Thornton are redshirting as both recover from offseason knee surgeries. Bays is also a transfer from Maryland, so even if healthy shed be forced to the sideline due to NCAA rules. Whitney Bays 52 F 6-2 Jr. Torrie Thornton 4 F 6-0 So.
