DECEMBER 2018 THE WOLVERINE 47   MICHIGAN RECRUITING Port Huron Northern three-star out- side linebacker Braiden McGregor At 6-6, 250 pounds, McGregor is looking more and more like a defen- sive end and is definitely ascending as he wraps up his junior year. The No. 15 player in the state is high on Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Ohio State, and would like to make his decision by April of next year after official visits if possible. West Bloomfield High four-star safety Makari Paige Paige looks like a big-time college safety at 6-3, 185 pounds. He's long, rangy and really has a nose for the ball. As the No. 12 safety and No. 201 overall prospect nationally, he's wanted by a lot of teams, but Michi- gan, Ohio State and Penn State are sticking out to the junior. He's also the friend and teammate of U-M commit Wheeler. Oak Park High five-star offensive guard Justin Rogers For a while it didn't look like Michi- gan was going to have a shot with Rogers. The 6-4, 314-pounder released a top 13 earlier this year that didn't include the Wolverines, but he has since visited Ann Arbor several times on his own dime. It's way too early to say if Michi- gan will be one of his legitimate final- ists, but he's at least showing interest again. The No. 1 guard and No. 15 overall prospect nationally has offers from everyone, and Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee and Texas seem to be a few of the schools gaining traction with him. Gibraltar Carlson four-star athlete Ian Stewart It's tough to predict how hard Stewart will be recruited by anyone because his position is tough to fig- ure out. He's 6-3, 185 pounds and has played wide receiver, tight end, defensive end, linebacker, safety and even quarterback during his high school career. He's considered the No. 20 athlete and No. 218 overall prospect nationally because of his ver- satility and a lot of schools would like to figure him out once he's on their campus. Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Notre Dame, were they to offer, likely make up his top group. Detroit Martin Luther King four-star wide receiver Rashawn Williams For a while it looked like Michi- gan was going to be on the outside looking in at Williams, but the 6-0, 178-pounder was in Ann Arbor for the Penn State game and even posed with the national championship trophy while throwing up the block M during pregame warm ups. As the No. 4 wide receiver and No. 24 overall prospect nationally, Wil- liams is a wanted man. Ohio State has a lot of momentum early, but a visit to Michigan and persuasion from Seldon seem to have Williams looking harder at the Maize and Blue than he was ear- lier on in his recruitment. DENVER WARREN DECOMMITS Michigan has been rolling on the re- cruiting trail in both the 2019 and 2020 classes, but the junior group took a hit in early November with the decommit- ment of Aurora (Ill.) West Aurora four- star defensive tackle Denver Warren. The 6-3, 300-pounder took to Twitter to let everyone know that he was back on the market. "I would like to announce that I will be decommitting from the University of Michigan due to the university not having enough room for me on the D-line roster for 2020," he tweeted. "Thank you for all the support and love, Ann Arbor. Thank you to my mom who has been on this ride the whole time with me. "I thank Coach Harbaugh and Coach Mattison. I will be opening my recruitment back up." Warren is considered the No. 13 defensive tackle and No. 214 overall prospect nationally by Rivals.com. The Michigan staff is in good shape with Carmel (Ind.) High four-star de- fensive tackle Cole Brevard (6-4, 280 pounds) who checks in as Rivals.com's No. 7 defensive tackle and No. 104 overall prospect nationally. The Wolverines have offered just nine defensive tackles in the 2020 class, including Warren. Expect that number to go up in search of a replacement. ❏ On The Web For regular reports on Michigan football recruiting plus videos of U-M commitments and targets visit TheWolverine.com. 2019 Michigan Commitment List Player Pos.
