14 POTATO GROWER | DECEMBER 2018 Around the Vine News From the Industry Valley Promotes Campbell to Global Role Valley Irrigation announces the promotion of Bob Campbell to vice president and group controller. In his new role, Campbell is responsible for managing the company's global irrigation accounting and finance department, including financial reporting, forecasting activities, budgeting, credit and collections, and inventory cost accounting. Prior to joining Valley in 2014, Campbell worked for Sabre Industries as the vice president of financial operations and Lexmark International as the site controller in Mexico and worldwide finance manager in Kentucky. Rehfeld Joins Potatoes USA Potatoes USA announces that Carla Rehfeld has joined its staff as the administrative operations assistant for the organization's administrative team. Rehfeld comes to the board with a background in providing administrative support, human resources, safety training and food audits in the fresh pack potato and produce industries, while working for a subsidiary of R.D. Offutt as well as Garden Fresh Tomatoes. One of the primary roles Rehfeld will be responsible for will be the board nominations. Sims Named Motion Industries Marketing VP Motion Industries, Inc., a leading distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation replacement parts aannounces the promotion of Pamela Sims to vice president of marketing. A graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Sims joined Motion Industries in 2004, starting in market research. Her career quickly evolved, and she has most recently served as the company's director of marketing since 2013. During this time, she developed and implemented various marketing plans to position Motion Industries as a leading industrial distributor. Sims has also developed outstanding relationships with the company's top strategic supplier partners, working with them to implement Motion Industries' extensive co-op advertising program. Vive Adds Two Regional Sales Managers Julia Engler recently joined Vive Crop Protection in the newly created position of eastern regional sales manager, and Vicki Dekkers was promoted to central regional sales manager. Both bring significant sales backgrounds in the corn, soybean, sugarbeet and potato industries, having worked with growers, retailers and distributors. Engler is based in Wisconsin and will focus on increasing awareness of the benefits of AZteroid FC 3.3 fungicide and Bifender FC 3.1 insecticide in corn. Based in Minnesota, Dekkers will focus mainly on AZteroid FC 3.3 in sugarbeets and rotational crops. Both will be introducing three new fertilizer- compatible products for use in 2019: a fungicide, insecticide and nematicide. Julia Engler Vicki Dekkers Dilution Solutions Names Hyde as Sales Manager Dilution Solutions, with corporate offices in Clearwater, Fla., has named Dennis Hyde as a national sales manager for irrigation. In this role, Hyde will be working throughout the U.S. Hyde brings extensive experience in the irrigation and plant management field. He started as a teenager with a parks and recreation department, building his own contractor business with a 10-acre nursery and landscape supply yard, and moved to working for a major irrigation distributor as manager and outside sales specialist. Always eager to learn about new applications, Hyde has multiple certifications in the irrigation field.
