Statistics since 2001 show two thirds reduction of serious rider injury correlated to rotational falls, but everyone's goal is further reduction to the minimum possible. This presentation summarizes results of the University of Kentucky (UK) research project that developed simulations revealing new insights into rotational falls and how they can be prevented. The UK team appreciates all those who contributed financial support, measurement surveys, and expert insight that made these results possible. This seminar is designed to provide officials with strategies in dealing with these types of personalities. Our customers in eventing are varied from the parents that know little to nothing about horses or the sport, to the confirmed rider that makes their living riding, competing, and coaching, to the harried organizer who is dealing with anything from a water break, to ice on the pond, to 10 inches of rain the night before. This session will be interactive with real life scenarios.
