24 C O N V E N T I O N S P E A K E R S works control at 24 events each year. He also serves on or chairs several USEF and USEA Committees. This year, as in years past, he will moderate the Rules Change Open Forum, during which time he will attempt to clarify the hopelessly complex rules under which you compete. Donations of oatmeal raisin cookies will improve the quality of the presentation. LIZ HOSKINSON Liz Hoskinson of Bronxville, New York is a lifelong horseperson, starting out as a youngster in the U.S. Pony Club and showing in the hunter world. When time allowed a return to active riding, she immediately turned to eventing and competing several horses at the lower levels in Area I and spent time competing over the winter months in Aiken, S.C. She has also coached students to success in their own eventing. Prior to re-starting her riding career, Liz was employed at USEF (then the AHSA), beginning in the Marketing and Communications department and finishing her decade of service as an Assistant Executive Director (and worked alongside Jennifer Hardwick and Sharon Gallagher). Currently, she is the co-chair with Janet Gunn of the USEA's Membership Development committee; is a member of the USEA's Intercollegiate Eventing Committee; serves as co-Chief Dressage Steward at the Millbrook Horse Trials; and volunteers at additional horse trials throughout the season. She manages and teaches at a medium-sized facility in Connecticut and works as a freelance writer and editor. VICKI HOWARD-FINE Vicki Howard-Fine is a former University nursing professor, parent of a Young Rider, former Area IX Young Rider Coordinator, and current coordinator of the Young Rider Mentorship Program. MIKE HUBER One of the youngest riders ever to be named to an international team, Mike Huber finished 13th at the 1978 World Championships at only 18 years old and then went on to ride at the 1980 Olympic Games on one of the youngest horses in the competition, his little mare, Gold Chip. In 1987, Mike won the individual gold medal at the Pan American Games on Quartermaster, also helping the team secure the gold medal. He represented the U.S. at the 1990 and 1994 World Equestrian Games. Not content with just an international riding and coaching career, Mike responded to the call to serve the sport in a governance capacity. In 1989, he was elected to serve on the USEA Board of Governors, becoming the youngest ever President of the USCTA in 1993, a post he held until 1995. Mike continued his dedication to the sport by serving on the USET/USEF Selection Committee twice and chairing the USEF High Performance Committee. He still serves on that Committee today and is a long-standing member of the USEF Eventing Sport Committee. Mike is also a man of action, he fully supported the USEA's ICP program, becoming one of the first to earn his Level IV Certification. Mike was the coach of the highly successful Area V Young Rider Team and currently owns and operates Gold Chip Stables in Bartonsville, Texas. SALLY IKE Sally Ike is the United States Equestrian Federation's Managing Director for Licensed Officials and Education. She is also an 'S' Eventing Judge and Technical Delegate (TD) and has her TD license since 1993 and judge's license since 1996.
