On behalf of the eventing community from Area V,
I would like to kindly welcome you to New Orleans.
Get prepared for some delicious cuisine, culture, and a
grand ole time!
Encompassing Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and
Louisiana, Area V has much to offer outside of
eventing. Texas is home to the King Ranch and the
Alamo. Oklahoma hosts the National Cowboy Museum and was the first state to
offer parking meters. Arkansas is the birthplace of Johnny Cash and Wal-Mart.
Louisiana is the host of the 2018 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention and the
Crawfish Capitol of the World!
New Orleans, also known as the "Big Easy," is known for its round-the-clock
nightlife, live music, Cajun and Creole cuisine, Jazz Fest, and of course, Mardi
Gras. While here, a few must-dos include coffee and beignets at Café Du Monde,
hurricanes at Pat O'Briens, experiencing the French Quarter, oysters at Acme, art in
Jackson Square, street cars through the Garden District, Preservation Hall, voodoo
and vampire tours, and much more!
Of course, the real reason that you are here is to attend the 2018 USEA Convention!
This is an opportunity for you to be heard by the leadership of our sport and learn
what they are doing to support the sport of eventing and the USEA membership.
The USEA staff have been working tirelessly to bring you an amazing Convention
full of speakers, seminars, meetings, vendors, and parties throughout the week. And
to top it off we will celebrate this year's Hall of Fame inductees.
I sincerely hope you have a fun and educational time in New Orleans and wish you a
very successful 2019 competition season.
