In search of political
and financial impact
F
ormer Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick has launched a politi-
cal action committee, in the latest sign that he might be on the
path toward declaring himself a candidate for the Democratic
Party's nominee for the 2020 presidential campaign. Patrick has said
he will decide whether to run by the end of the year.
In the meantime, Patrick has been working with private equity
heavyweight Bain Capital, managing the firm's $390 million impact
fund in conjunction with other Bain executives.
Whether the former governor can make his biggest impact in
the public or private sector remains to be seen.
