Business Watch February 2013 The NBM Show kicks off new education program in arlington next month BROOMFIELD, Colo.—The NBM Show announces the expansion of its educational opportunities for the 2013 season. Training by Exhibitors will be a new feature to the shows, beginning with the Arlington, Texas event, held March 7-9, 2013. Laurie Thiel, The NBM Show's Director of Sales, says the program will be more cost effective for attendees because the new show Event Pass fee will cover the cost of all classes. See the schedule for the Arlington event on page 10. The Event Pass, $25, includes access to the exhibit hall plus all training sessions presented either in the exhibit hall or in classrooms. In addition, many exhibitors will provide complimentary passes that either waive or compensate the $25 fee for attendees. The NBM Show's 2013 training program consists of hands-on exhibit hall demonstrations and 90-minute classroom sessions. The Training in the Classroom sessions each last 90 minutes and are held outside the exhibit hall in a structured classroom setting. Such sessions are presented on the Thursday and Friday of each event and are led by industry experts. Classes will be presented by Action Illustrated, ASI, Digital Art Solutions, GSG, PPAI and Ryonet, among others. Additionally, each exhibitor participating in the In the Hall Training program will present three 20–30 minute classes during each of the three days that the exhibit hall is open. These hands-on education sessions not only provide valuable instructions for using spe- 8 | Printwear PW_FEB13.indd 8 cific products, but also often include sneak peeks at upcoming product releases. Finally, the Recognized Professional Program is a continuing education program created exclusively for participants in the Training by Exhibitors program at The NBM Show. Those who complete the requirements will receive a PDF certificate, which can be printed and framed as well as recognition on an affiliated website. Attendees interested in obtaining the Recognized Professional certificate are required to attend at least five Training by Exhibitors sessions, either in the classroom or in the exhibit hall.
