12 Sugar Producer FEBRUARY 2019 Off the Top Paul Thomson Thomson Joins Vive Board of Directors Vive Crop Protection welcomed Paul Thomson to its board of directors in late November. Thomson has nearly 30 years of experience in agriculture, including overseeing the product development activities at Vive since 2015. Before joining Vive, Thomson held a variety of R&D and business development positions at Chemtura Corporation and Arysta LifeScience. He holds a doctorate in chemistry and an MBA from McMaster University. Mecham, Strickland Join Valley in Leadership Roles Valley Irrigation announces the hiring of Trevor Mecham as vice president of global technology strategy–irrigation, and Joe Strickland as vice president and general manager of North America irrigation. Mecham joined Valley on Nov. 26 and will develop and lead Valley technology strategy, in conjunction with the irrigation senior leadership team. Prior to joining Valley, Strickland spent the last 10 years in a variety of roles at Ecolab, most recently as vice president of agribusiness. House Charities Inland Northwest last month after finalizing all donations. Ag World Golf Classic has donated $325,967 over the past five years to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland Northwest. Ronald McDonald House provides temporary lodging and support for families with children receiving medical services and supports related efforts to improve children's health. The 2019 Ag World Golf Classic is set for June 12, 2019 at Canyon Lakes Golf Course, in Kennewick, Wash. Registration opens January 2019 at www.agworldgolf.com.
