45 JAN-FEB 2019 MEETINGS & CONVENTIONS MCMAG-ASIA.COM Previously the Axis Bar and Lounge, the space has been completely revamped with a swanky interior and a long granite bar counter that takes centrestage. Here, guests can have an exclusive view of how their cocktails are prepared before lounging in comfortable plush armchairs, making for a fun and interactive post- conference networking session. Inspired by the Pacic Ocean and the rich culture of Asia's ports, MO BAR's selection of cocktails was developed using local exquisite ingredients to celebrate the vibrant avours and aromas of the region. The aptly named "Mother of all Dragons" will not only wow guests but also their social media followers with its humongous presentation of strawberry aloe vera, red dragon fruit juice and cachaça. Another cocktail not to be missed is "The Roaring City", served with a morsel of vermouth jelly. "One of the most important elements to consider when providing a selection of drinks for a networking event is the ease of access," says Michele Mariotti, bar manager at MO BAR. "Drinks and food should be easy to engage with and allow the guest to move freely while holding the drink or food item in one hand." She cites the stued phoenix wings, which are easy to share and eat with one hand. While it may not be a rooftop bar, the 4th oor space, which can accommodate 90 guests seated and 30 standing, features oor-to-ceiling windows that still oer a mesmerising view of the Marina Bay skyline. MANDARIN ORIENTAL, SINGAPORE MO BAR Getting close on the mixology action is one of the highlights at MO BAR, Mandarin Oriental Singapore's latest offering.
