Stat Sheet Car: 1967 Shelby Mustang G.T.500CR Convertible Builder: Jason Engel and the team at Classic Recreations Location: Yukon, Oklahoma Build Time: About 2,500 man-hours Engel's client loved the concept of the G.T.500CR. Together, they created a plan to modernize the car. After purchasing a 1967 Shelby from eBay, Engel went to work on the design. "Our client wanted a vintage car with modern amenities," Engel said. "We incorporated the look of the classic G.T.500 with a bit of a twist." The "twist" included the G.T.500CR body kit, fuel injection, coilover suspension and the famous 1968 Shelby styling bar. In addition, Engel used the door panels and trim from the 1967 Mustang and a set of Shelby 427 wheels in front and out back.
