A- Our eyes are the windows to our souls, and one of the most striking features of beauty. With aging, the delicate skin around the eyes gets thinner, cell turnover reduces, and the network of collagen and elastin fibers that give structural support to the area loosens. This leads to lines and wrinkles, build up of pigment and increased visibility of the bluish veins through thinning skin, leading to 'dark circles'. In addition, the orbicularis oculi muscle which forms a ring around the eyes gets weaker, as a result the fat pads under the eyes herniate under it causing 'eye bags'. How do we treat it? The good news-today, we have a multitute of excellent treatment options to address these, although we do require a combination of treatments for optimal results. I call our signature treatment for this -'No more Dark Circles'. The protocol begins with collagen building under the eyes with devices using US/RF or RF microneedling. This is followed by PRP (Platelet rich plasma) injections to add growth factors to stimulate cell turnover, combined with fillers like Belotero or Restylane in the tear troughs if needed to add volume to hollow undereyes. We complete the in-office treatment with a moderate chemical peel depigmentation mask to reduce pigment. And you go home with a medical grade eye-cream containing actives like retinol, kojic acid and peptides to brighten the eyes. 6 9 3 M A R K E T S T R E E T • LY N N F I E L D , M A • 7 8 1 . 7 7 6 . 6 9 6 0 • N E E M M E D I C A L S PA .
