111 Citra, Amarillo, and Mosaic hops, which lend earthy, berry-forward flavors to the drink, while Home Port relies on Citra and Simcoe lupulin for juiciness and a piney profile. It's a stroke of irony, perhaps, that a brewery making their name with New England IPAs, hazy and hop-heavy, has a porter on tap that tops them all—the Commodore, a peanut butter and chocolate porter, the exact kind of beer one reaches for this time of year. But that doesn't diminish the IPAs. Each of them boasts freshness for staving off the winter doldrums, and thanks to Channel Marker's hop selection, each of them stands out for its unique flavor profile. Variety's the spice of life in craft beer, and Channel Marker has a talent for using variety to strike a balance in their lineup. But most of all, they have passion, and they have it in spades; and passion, even more than their beer, is their lifeblood. To continue on their way," says Negrotti, as he waves goodbye to some customers who are leaving and hello to others that have finally gotten in. "And we had one couple and their baby and they were here for five hours!"
