190-pound 14-year-old sticks out even when he is on the sidelines. Milo spotted the freshman in his weight room and saw the shell of the next great left tackle in the Everett football dynasty. The Crimson Tide, a popular name for dynasties these days, have won 10 Massachusetts state titles in the past 16 years. They've missed the championship game only three times during that stretch. Milo and head coach John Dibiaso took over the program in 1992. They won the Greater Boston League two years later and haven't lost one since. They know what it takes to build a winner. Milo sat Montelus down on a padded bench in the weight room toward the end of his freshman year and talked to him about his future. He promised the 14-yearold a college scholarship was waiting for him if he was willing to put in the work. He needed to take up residence in the weight room. He needed to change his attitude and start doing his schoolwork. And he needed to eat. "I remember coach calling and saying I want him to put on weight," said Fabre, Montelus' mother. "I said, 'Oh my god, he's already so big. How do you expect me to feed him?' … It's not easy. I'm a single mother trying to raise a kid by herself. I said I'll do my best, and I did. I did my best." Fabre worked two jobs in between classes at UMass-Lowell, where she was studying to become a nurse, to pay her growing grocery bill. She spent her weekends tracking down fresh,
