James Onwualu Adds Skills To
A Class He Helped Build
By Wes Morgan
James Onwualu is a
polite young man for a
mobster. The receiver
out of Cretin-Derham
Hall High in Saint Paul,
Minn., was one of the
founding members of
IrishMob13, the moniker
the 2013 recruiting class
chose. It was a haul that
turned out to be as thick
as thieves, with Onwualu
putting in arguably the
most legwork when it
came to helping the Irish
coaching staff secure
commitments from 16 of
the 24 signees before the
start of the 2012 season.
"It just felt like we had
known each other forever," Onwualu, who
enrolled at Notre Dame
in January and will get a
head start on his college
career, said of his interaction with fellow recruits
on his many unofficial
visits to South Bend over
the last 12 months. "We
all have different personalities, but we're all looking for the same things
and have the same goals.
