To Be Next In Line At Tight End U.

Collier High School's
2013 offense wasn't ideal
for a blue-chip tight end.
The Cougars flipped from
the spread to a triple-option attack, which turned
Notre Dame commit
Mike Heuerman into a
glorified offensive tackle.
The 6-4, 220-pound
Sunshine State native
caught only six passes in
the fall after deciding to
play at Notre Dame. As
a junior, he jumped between tight end and wide
receiver to show the kind
of versatility Notre Dame
loves to see at that position.
"That's why they recruited him. He's a guy
that can do everything,"
Barron Collier's first-year
head coach Dan Pallante
said. "We just could not
throw the football. We
had a quarterback that
had shoulder surgery and
I picked him because he
could manage the team,
but Mike knew that going in."
Pallante, who lives
247Sports rates Heuerman as a four-star prospect, the country's
No. 7 tight end and the No. 215 overall player in the class of 2013.
