HOUSE / TECHNO 24 www.guestlist.net LOCO DICE @ ELECTRIC BRIXTON Issue 48 / 2013 GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS SOULDYNAMIC Partygoers, you're probably already creaming your pants just from the title. Get this one in the diary, in bold, ASAP. Looking for a guaranteed upbeat, funky sound? The Italian duo might be just what you are looking for! Because this is the one night of the year you are not gonna want to miss. Loco Dice is one of the most influential and inspiring figures in electronic music and is one of the most in demand DJs on the planet right now. From mammoth sets in Fabric, headline sets at Timewarp, and being a legendary regular at Amnesia in Ibiza; Loco Dice is the real man Luca Ciotoli & Stefano De Magistris first came to prominence as producers in 2007, after the release of 'The Past As The Future' which was championed by the likes of Joey Negro. Their production work continued on what is now a very healthy catalogue. Their many releases are on labels including Barcoda, Duffnote, Purple Music, Code Red, and the soulful legend of the moment and this is his first time playing Electric. On top of that are some 'very special guests', we can only wonder who they might be but there can be no doubt that this one is gonna go off. Doors open at 11pm and on the event page it says that it will be closing at 8am - but don't be surprised if he's still grooving well into the next afternoon. ALBUM OF THE MONTH: SOCIAL EXPERIMENT Soulfuric. Working with artists such as Roland Clark and Robert Owens simply shows how much credentials this duo have between them. They started performing as DJs in 2008, and have played at the Armani bar in Hong Kong. They absolutely tore up the Southport Weekender as well as SunceBeat, Croatia. Their set @ Southport's 25th anniversary in 2012 was wicked, the party of all parties. Everyone was having an absolute ball. We've all seen DJ's going through the motions but these guys have as much fun as the troops on the dancefloor. From my experience they are unlikely to offer a flat set. If you see their name on the bill, wear your dancing shoes, and strengthen your jaw beforehand, because you are going to be grinning from start to finish. NEW MUSIC OF THE MONTH We present you with 5 of the hottest tracks and mixes out right now... 1. Claptone Wrong 4. Imprint Of Pleasure Tube & Berger Social Experiment 003 mixed by Art Department, is due for release on February 18th on label No. 19. The label is run by one half of Art Department, Jonny White, and is the first compilation released by him and musical partner Kenny Glasgow; YAY because based on their past offerings, we're in for a treat. The mix features 14 tracks in total, with exclusives from Jamie Jones, My Favourite Robot, Gregorythme, Fuckpony, and Jacking Rabitt featuring Robert Owens. Not to be outdone, Art Department themselves add in previously unheard tracks, namely 'Into the Dust Intro' and 'Insomniac'. This is a deep house master class. Another eagerly anticipated track is their new single with BLUD & Shaun Reeves, with vocals from Crosstown Rebels legend Damian Lazarus. On top of that we have a Carl Craig remix of DJ Hell featuring Brian Ferry. While it sounds like it has peaked, this list is not exhaustive. Totally oozing house talent; this is way beyond a normal compilation album. 2. Jamie L What We Saw 3. Phunk Investigation In The Stage 5. Joyenergizer Sander Van Doorn
