8 GUESTLIST Issue 48 / 2013 www.guestlist.net BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE Tyler Shields 'Chromatic' @ Intimate Gallery, Friday February 8th - Saturday March 23rd Considered by the Daily Mail to be 'Hollywood's Favourite Photographer' and one of the "100 Best Things In The World" by GQ, Tyler Shields has created quite a reputation. Returning to the Intimate Modern Gallery in Marylebone, he brings us his explosive mix of colours, splashes of brightness and a mix of textures. His new collection of work, titled 'Chromatic', features the cast of American TV show 'Revenge' in a paint war, and also features Sheilds' partner, Francesca Eastwood, who Streetdance workshop @ Southbank Centre, February 19th What better way to carry on with those New Year's resolutions of staying fit and healthy than by shaking a leg or two and busting a few moves down at the Streetdance workshop at the Southbank Centre in Waterloo? Offering three different time slots throughout the day (12:00pm, 1:30pm and 3:00pm), this one is definitely not to be missed. The Southbank Centre is famous for its exposure of contemporary dance, it's variety of shows, literature, talks and music, all under their seven different venues including the infamous Royal Festival Hall. he has also featured in his previous work. The 'Chromatic' collection utilises a frenzy of brightly coloured paint powder, which creates a contrast between the variety of hues, warm lighting and dark silhouettes. The exhibition runs from February 8th – Saturday March 23rd and we suggest you take a look. New Bands on the Block @ Proud, Camden, February 18th Taking over Proud each and every Tuesday, New Bands on the Block bring some of London's freshest talent to Camden. Taking over the main room of the gallery, they showcase the best of the city with everything from raw guitar to big beats. This night promises to push the best in live music into the spotlight, giving a well earned leg-up to local artists. Perhaps the most intriguing element of this evening is that the crowd get to decide which band they think deserves the grand prize. The night kicks off around 8pm, so make sure you get down early, grab a drink and get ready to witness some new music.
