The Wrong Way
Iowa hands Purdue its worse home loss in eight years
Freshman April Wilson briefly
provided Purdue with a spark
in the second half, scoring five
straight points to get the lead
to six, but the rally was shortlived. Wilson has come up in
big spots of late, including a
second-half three-pointer to
help Purdue rally at Wisconsin.

Coach Sharon Versyp looks on in dismay at her
teams performance in the second half, as the
Boilermakers fell behind by double-digits and
couldnt recover. The 20-point loss matched that of
eight years ago, when the Boilermakers lost 58-38
to Minnesota in Mackey Arena.
Former Boilermaker
coach Nell Fortner
was in Mackey
Arena for the game
as part of ESPN2s
broadcast team. In
1996-97, Fortner
guided Purdue to a
share of the Big Ten
Championship in her
only season in West
Lafayette, three
years before coaching
the USA to the gold
medal in the Sydney
Olympics.

even donned the T-shirts Purdue gave out as
part of the Play4Kay cancer awareness game.
