99 Glass Shard Painting Artist At her Lynn home studio, Eleanor Ruth Fisher makes glass shard paintings. e nearby ocean and her garden inspire her glinting works, swirling with movement and color. A Doctor of important because glass shrinks as it cools, and can easily shatter if not handled quickly and masterfully. "Sometimes I get stuck and don't know what to make next, and then get inspired and have a whole range of things to do for a year," says Garvey, adding that what ultimately drives her work is playing with color, shape, and style. "I don't have a life plan for this. I am just following the wind, wherever it decides to take me." BEST ARTIST ADVICE: "Occasionally you have to go over the limit when working close to the edge in order to figure out where the limit is." Garvey studied at Diablo Glass School in Boston.
