NORTHSHOREMAG.COM 42 APRIL 2019 CONTACT voicesoopeboston.org (past performances have included Fiddler on the Roof, Children of Eden, and Godspell) and once in the fall for a showcase that features music and performances from Broadway and beyond. Both the spring and fall productions have been limited to a single performance to maximize the donation they can make to the Termeer Center. Due to their overwhelming success, how- ever, this spring these dedicated entertainers will be able to treat audiences to two perfor- mances, on May 4 and 5, when their produc- tion of Titanic comes sailing onto the stage at the North Shore Music Theatre. They will return again on October 12 for their 10th annual gala, paying tribute to the successful influence of their performances over the last decade. "We change the lives of our members, who are united by a love of music and a desire to have an impact on the battle against cancer," says Ed Siegal of Stoneham, vice president of Voices of Hope. "Whether they are supporting a loved one's cancer journey, grieving a loss, or finding themselves facing an uncertain future, our members know they have found a place of love and support while creating a lasting impact on the future through their art." When asked about the future of Voices of Hope, whose members practice out of a warehouse space in Lawrence that the group affectionately calls "The Nest," Chastain says, "We would love to one day have a theatre home of our own. A permanent space would reduce our rehearsal and performance costs, permit our productions to run for multiple days, allow us to stage special events, and generate sustaining revenue from sharing the venue with other performers." Until then, Voices of Hope will continue to do what they do best: work together to make cancer history, one song at a time.
