{ EVENTS } Independence Day Festivities JULY 1–4 Teton Valley Summer Festival A festival featuring air balloons in a rally over- looking the majestic Grand Teton Mountain Range. Three days of balloon rides, games, 4th of July parade, rodeo action, bike races, a fiddler’s contest and a craft and antique fair. Glider rides and balloon flights are available during the festival. Entries will include equestrian units, floats, drill and dance teams, bands and—for better or worse—plenty of clowns. It is held on Memorial Drive between Broadway and E Street. Activities include food, arts and crafts and business vendors, games, displays, large military vehicles, fire trucks and other mega machines. TIME: Noon–10 p.m. COST: Free LOCATION: Memorial Drive, Idaho Falls CONTACT: 522-1010 JULY 3 Melaleuca Freedom Celebration Dinner The celebration consists of a family style buffet dinner along the banks of the Snake River and a performance by members of the Idaho Falls Symphony Orchestra. The pyrotechnics are computer-fired to specially selected patriotic and popular music that is choreographed note for note and shot for shot.
