JUNE/JULY 2019 THE WOLVERINE 11   INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS THEY SAID IT "Have said this for years: Coach [Jim] Harbaugh does more for his players off the field than any coach I have ever seen. Part of college — for any student, athlete or not — is experiencing new people, places and cultures. I'm glad he real- izes that." — Fox Sports Radio host Aaron Torres on Twitter May 7, referring to the overseas trips Harbaugh takes his teams on "Whenever [Shea] Patter- son is mentioned having a breakout season next year with a new offense or being a potential first-rounder, everyone seems to doubt it. I think Patterson is ready to have a huge year under new offen- sive coordinator Josh Gattis. It's hard to imagine the Michigan offense under Jim Harbaugh being open and exciting, but I believe he will give control to Gattis and Patterson will thrive in an up-tempo offense." — Rivals national recruiting director Mike Farrell on picking Michigan's senior as the quarterback not getting enough respect heading into next season PHOTO COURTESY MICHIGAN PHOTOGRAPHY 2nd Nationally is where U-M checked in on the May 16 update of the Learfield IMG Directors' Cup, an overall measure of an athletic departments' success.
