Nico Saad Celebrates 80th Birthday Nico Saad, President of Tourismo de Ensenada and owner of the San Nicolas Hotel & Casino in Ensenada, Mexico, was given a surprise 80th birthday party at his hotel on May 29, as part of the week-long pre-race festivities during the 51st SCORE Baja 500. COPS Racing drivers Zak Langley (pictured at far left), Morgan Langley and John Langley, Nico Saad (middle), Baja California Secretary of Tourism Oscar Escobedo, and Victor Celis Duenas Ensenada Hotel & Motel Association President, were some of the many people in attendance. Other guests included SCORE representatives, along with Nico Saad’s wife and three daughters, former SCORE owner Sal Fish, racers Cameron Steele, Glenn Harris, J.J. Schnarr, Gary Magness, Scott Bloom, BFG’s Wild Bill pit coordinator, and Hal Andreoli, owner of Instant Mexico Auto Insurance. Saad, is SCORE’s 2018 Person of the Year, introduced Mickey Thompson to the Baja California governor in 1973 and worked to solidify the agreement with the Mexican government to be the authorized SCORE official non-Mexican producer of desert races in Baja California. Saad has worked diligently behind the scenes for 46 years to help SCORE secure and maintain its preeminent position as the World Foremost Desert Racing Organization. Air Dates Set For 51st SCORE Baja 500 The 51st SCORE Baja 500 will air on ABC World of X Games on Saturday July 6, 2p m ET and PT.
