Look at Luke 10:1:
We know Martha was hosting at
least 13 people, plus Mary and
herself—that's 15. What about
their brother, Lazarus? You
know he was there, and that
would make 16. What if the
other 70 Jesus appointed had
been there? She could very well

Notice Jesus said that it was Mary's choice to sit and hear Jesus. She
submitted herself to His WORD. Right in the middle of all that was
going on around her, she put the Master and His WORD first place. But
let's not take anything from Martha.

you look at it, 86 or 16, that's a
lot of people, especially with no
help. That makes the words of
Jesus even more important to
you and me. What if Martha had
done what the Apostle Peter
learned and wrote about in 1
Peter 5:6-7?
