A SUCCESSFUL FUTURE BEGINS WITH QA Technology is a cornerstone to the success of law firms now and in the future. Through an organizational focus on quality, implementation costs are reduced, time-to-market is improved and returns on technology investments are realized. The way to jumpstart the development of a QA program for your own firm is to define quality improvement goals related to existing problems and/or risks and then establish pilot projects to address them. The pilot projects will demonstrate the benefits of quality and help tune the approach based on lessons learned. Pilot projects can be augmented with formal, targeted training. Over time, the successes from the pilot projects can be rolled into all projects and into the organization overall. Quality is part of the DNA of a thriving law firm, now and in 2020 and beyond. A quality assurance program can be credited for the successful outcome. ILTA Bill Mertes is currently an Associate and Director of the Software Engineering Practice for Olenick & Associates.
