Based in Fillmore, Calif., Smith will work to build new sales opportunities, maintain relationships with distributors, and support the company through representation at events within his territory. Smith earned a bachelor's degree from California State University in Fresno, majoring in plant science with an emphasis in plant health. He also is a licensed pest control advisor in California and a certified agronomist. Based in Healdsburg, Calif., Vadon will be working to build new sales opportunities and support the company through representation at events within the wine grape industry. He earned a bachelor's degree in crop science from Chico State University and is currently enrolled in a master's program in viticulture and enology from Charles Sturt University. Vestaron Hires Patel as COO Ash Patel is the most recent hire as Vestaron continues to round out its corporate leadership team and fulfill its mission of revolutionizing the agricultural insecticide landscape. As an accomplished operations director with more than 23 years of experience leading manufacturing, engineering, capital projects, supply chain and IT/automation systems, Vestaron believes Patel is the ideal leader for this role. With the recent commercialization of Vestaron's first peptide-based bioinsecticides, the company was seeking someone who could help it meet increasing volume requirements while streamlining and reducing risk in the manufacturing process. Patel joined the team on June 12, shortly after the organization announced its Series B funding, and completes the corporations' senior executive team. Patel will oversee all of Vestaron's manufacturing and supply chain operations, including associated regulatory processes, across the globe. Ash Patel Matthew Smith Taylor Vadon New Factory Heralds New Era for Tong Engineering Tong Engineering, one of the world's leading manufacturers of vegetable grading and handling equipment, is looking forward to a new era as it starts work on a brand new production facility in Lincolnshire, UK. The new factory is being built as a two-phase project on a seven-acre site in the company's hometown of Spilsby, with the $4.5 million first-phase building expected for completion by spring 2020. The fourth-generation family business currently operates across two sites in Spilsby and Wainfleet in Lincolnshire. On completion of the Phase 1 build, all production will take place in Spilsby, enabling Tong to progress with its ambitious growth targets while creating 26 new jobs.
