Sts. John Paul II, Gianna Molla communities are vibrant and growing, pastors say
Seeds being sowed for new parishes
"I
t's not that often that bishops
are able to announce the kind
of good news I am about to
share with you," Archbishop Samuel
J. Aquila wrote in a column penned
in November 2017, announcing the
process of opening two par-
ishes in Denver in response
to the growing population.

Father Jason

and Father James
Spahn (below) were
installed as the
pastors of two new
parishes in the Arch-
diocese of Denver,
St. Gianna Molla in
Green Valley Ranch
and St. John Paul II
in Thornton, respec-
tively. While build-
ing a new parish
community from
the ground up has
its challenges, both
pastors are confi -
dent that the Lord
will provide for their
new communities
and allow them to
fl ourish.
