JUL-AUG 2019 15 MEETINGS & CONVENTIONS MCMAG-ASIA.COM S P E C I A L F E A T U R E The Road to Enterprise Stardom in Taiwan The 2019 Asia Super Team (AST) competition takes corporate teams on a discovery of the best meetings, incentives, and conference experiences across Taiwan. When it comes to planning an event, MEET TAIWAN knows there's no better way to discover a destination's MICE capabilities than to experience it yourself. Since 2014, MEET TAIWAN has helped more than 10,000 Asian companies explore Taiwan — thanks to the annual Asia Super Team competition. Instead of a typical familiarisation trip, Asia Super Team invites corporate groups on an all-out team building extravaganza. Every edition of Asia Super Team features a theme highlighting the latest MICE trends, with activities designed around this theme. In addition to getting a first-hand experience of Taiwan's corporate travel facilities and activities, teams can network and find inspiration with ideas like these: 2019 Asia Super Team: Enterprise Star Utilising the concept of "Internet stars", the 2019 Asia Super Team is partnering with online travel celebrities from the eight countries included in the competition. They will serve as campaign ambassadors and invite enterprises from their own countries to participate, while helping them to document their experience and become "Enterprise Stars". Application for the Asia Super Team competition is free, so gather your teammates and join in today! Stage 1: Online Registration (June 13–August 15, 2019) Enterprises from eight countries in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia (Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, and Korea) can apply online via the Asia Super Team website. Stage 2: Competition in Taiwan (October 14–18, 2019) One enterprise will be invited from each of the eight countries, each sending a 4-person team to compete in Taiwan. The final champions will receive an incentive tour to Taiwan valued at US$50,000. Join Asia Super Team now! At Miaoli's Bei Yan Jiu Farm, participants can slow down and appreciate life's little moments through the process of kneading, resting, and baking yeasted dough to make bread. Sustainable agriculture: tea-making lesson At Meishan Township of Chiayi County, groups will learn the painstaking process of making Taiwan's fragrant tea — from picking, rolling to drying the tea leaves. Then, they'll enjoy the fruits of their labour with a tea-tasting session. Team building: group drumming workshop At Ten Drum Ciatou Creative Park, a local drumming studio in Kaohsiung, groups will learn how to play Taiwanese folk drums, which require each drummer to play different and often confusing rhythms to create a dynamic percussion performance.
