Wong's 17-year career in sales and marketing makes him the ideal choice for the role, having been the director of sales and marketing at properties like Amankora in Bhutan, Amantaka in Laos, as well as The Landmark, Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong. As general manager, he will help with the resort's conservation and community engagement programmes, as well as to provide personalised experiences for guests. Tane Picken has been appointed general manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, a 792-key hotel in the heart of Singapore's shopping district. Picken comes with more than 18 years of hospitality management experience across a variety of luxury hotel brands in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. The South African native is also no stranger to Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, having been the general manager of Shangri- La's Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa previously, as well as Hotel Jen Penang between 2015 and 2016. The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong recently appointed one of its own — Jill Goh — as its new general manager. Goh has been with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group since 1993, serving previously as resident manager both at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore and Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London until 2013. She was then appointed corporate operations manager — Asia and was based in Hong Kong. From 2015, she then held the role of general manager at Mandarin Oriental's Macau property. Mövenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok has appointed Swiss hotelier Bruno Huber as its new general manager. One of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts' longest-serving executives, he joined in 2003 as general manager of Mövenpick Resort El Quseir Red Sea in Egypt, before taking on roles at Mövenpick properties across the Middle East and Asia Paci!c. He also served as the group's vice president operations, Asia. He was most recently general manager of Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh and director of operations for Vietnam. Adriano Vences has joined The Murray, Hong Kong, a Niccolo Hotel, as general manager. Vences began his journey with Wharf Hotels back in 2009. Six years later, he was promoted to the position of general manager and headed Niccolo hotel's !rst property in China, Niccolo Chengdu. Over the last three decades, Vences has had industry experiences in Mexico and Chile, as well as several countries across Asia, like Singapore, Dubai and India.
