Khaleke Hudson LB 3 Earned third-team All-Big Ten hon- ors from the coaches after notching 83 stops, 18.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks and two picks two years ago, but took a step back last season. He was still named honorable mention All-Big Ten after starting 11 games and finishing with 44 tackles and two sacks. He will man the viper spot again as a senior. Nate Johnson CB 3 Caught one pass for four yards as a freshman before moving to corner- back, but was dismissed prior to his second season. He spent a year at Ari- zona Western Junior College and will play at Grand Valley State this fall. Ron Johnson DL 4 Appeared in one game in three years, finished his degree and trans- ferred to Rutgers, where he will play immediately with two years of eligi- bility remaining. Carlo Kemp DL 4 Has appeared in 28 games with 12 starts (all at the end of last year) and earned the defense's most improved player award in 2018. He has notched 20 career tackles, 17 coming last fall, and has moved to nose tackle. David Long CB 4 Earned 13 starts as both a sopho- more and junior after playing in four games as a freshman. Was the coaches' choice for first-team All-Big Ten last year and won U-M's 2018 Defensive Skill Player of the Year Award. He fin- ished his career with 38 tackles and 17 passes broken up, before being drafted by the Rams in the third round. Elysee Mbem-Bosse LB 4 Earned two varsity letters and played in 12 games before being dis- missed from the team. Has yet to re- surface elsewhere. Eddie McDoom WR 3 Played in all 13 games and caught five passes for 59 yards as a rookie, adding 16 rushes for 160 yards on sweeps. He notched 81 receiving yards and 43 rushing yards as a sophomore before transferring to South Florida. He will be eligible to play there this fall with two years remaining. Sean McKeon TE 3 Played in four games as a freshman and notched honorable mention All- Big Ten honors his second and third years. Has appeared in 30 games (16 starts) with 47 receptions for 433 yards and four touchdowns. Josh Metellus S 3 Played in nine games with one start as a freshman, earned honorable men- tion All-Big Ten honors in his second year and then garnered first-team all- conference accolades from the AP last year. He has totaled 113 tackles and 14 passes defended (three interceptions) in 34 games with 26 starts. Ahmir Mitchell WR 4 Struggled off the field and left the program for Rutgers before playing a game. Dismissed from Rutgers and eventually played at Fort Scott (Kan.) Junior College in five games last year. Quinn Nordin PK 3 Became the team's starting kicker after redshirting his first season and was an honorable mention All-Big Ten pick after making 19 of 24 field goal attempts two years ago. Made 11 of 16 kicks last fall before giving way to freshman Jake Moody, and hopes to win his starting job back this fall. Michael Onwenu OL 4 Has appeared in 33 games, includ- ing 27 along the offensive line with 13 starts last season when he earned third-team All-Big Ten honors from the coaches. Has lost weight this summer to solidify his starting right guard spot. Brandon Peters QB 4 Started four of the 11 games in which he appeared, completing 58 of 110 passes for 680 yards with four touch- downs and three interceptions before transferring to Illinois, where he'll be immediately eligible this year. Stephen Spanellis OL 3 Played in 13 games in his second season, five as a reserve lineman, and matched that last year. Expected to play in a reserve role again this fall. Josh Uche LB 3 Played in 12 games at linebacker last year, and recorded 15 tackles with seven sacks en route to All-Big Ten honorable mention. He has 21 total tackles, nine stops for loss and eight sacks in his career, and is expected to be a major contributor this year. Kareem Walker RB 4 Recorded just 68 yards and a touch- down in two seasons at U-M. He trans- ferred to Fort Scott (Kan.) Junior Col- lege last summer, before signing with Mississippi State. ❑ THE FIFTH-YEAR SENIOR Only one of 14 players signed in the 2015 class remains, but he is a good one. Linebacker Jordan Glasgow is also likely to contribute, but he came in as a walk-on. Name Pos. Rec. Stars Jon Runyan Jr. OL 3 Runyan played in 10 career games before taking over at left tackle last season. He earned the Hugh H. Rader Memorial award given to the team's top lineman after earning first team All-Big Ten honors from both the coaches and AP last year. Versatile lineman Carlo Kemp was tabbed as the U-M defense's most improved player in 2018.
