WWW.POTATOGROWER.COM 13 Wilbur-Ellis Acquires Ag Aviation Companies Wilbur-Ellis Company recently announced the acquisitions of the assets of two Montana-based companies, Frontier Aviation based in Chester and Ag Air based in Rudyard. Both Frontier Aviation and Ag Air have been Wilbur-Ellis's alliance partners since 2003, allowing for a smooth transition for both Frontier Aviation and Ag Air customers. These full-service agribusinesses are now Wilbur-Ellis Company locations. FMC acquired the 515-acre Stine Research Center campus as part of its acquisition of a portion of DuPont's crop protection business in 2017. The transaction was the largest in FMC history and retained more than 500 jobs in Delaware, transferred 45 employees from a nearby state and created 19 new positions. FMC plans to reconfigure an existing structure at the facility to enhance its global research and development efforts. In support of the project, the company plans to hire 13 employees over the next three years, which would bring its total of full-time R&D employees at the Delaware campus to approximately 375. The new positions include professional scientists and skilled associates. FMC Corporation plans to invest more than $50 million over the next three years in capital improvement projects, including a state-of- the-art reconfiguration of a greenhouse and research facility at the company's Global Research and Development headquarters in Newark, Del. Mart Produce Teams with ProSource Rupert, Idaho-based potato grower- shipper The Mart Group, LLC., operating as Mart Produce, and Idaho-based ProSource Inc. have combined sales teams to consolidate all fresh-packed potato and onion sales and marketing responsibilities moving forward. ProSource Inc. has been responsible for all fresh onion sales and marketing for Golden West Produce LLC in Parma, Idaho; Rio Valley Onion LLC in Hatch, N.M.; and Winter Garden Produce LLC in Uvalde, Texas. The finalization of this joint venture will effectively couple one of the oldest and largest Idaho potato grower/shippers with one of the most extensive year-round grower-based fresh onion programs in the industry.
