Ignite CONVENTION CENTRE REPORT | Ignitemag.ca | 1 Convention Centre Report 2019 Vanessa Wilson, manager for events with Digital Health Canada, based in Toronto, manages a roster of events from coast-to-coast. She is inding that changes are necessary to fulill expectations of delegates and show exhibitors. At her EHealth Conference and Trade Show at Toronto's Beanield Centre, she utilized the open loor space of that venue to her advantage to calm exhibitor concerns that they weren't getting enough face time or quality leads from her dele- gates on the show loor. Evolving demographics, learning styles and the desire for change is driving Canadian convention centres to constantly update and adapt to their clients' program needs. "We tried something new this year, we got creative with the space and built nine pod areas, with about 50 seats at each, on the show loor for di erent speakers and areas of expertise," says Wilson. "We then gave out sponsored headphones and remote controls at registration that allowed our attendees to walk between the various podcasts. The microphone for each speaker could only be heard if you had the matching channel on your remote control."
