... and everything in between
It's sometimes easy to forget that there's more to the Philippines
than its palm-fringed beaches of powder-white sand and
crystalline, coral-rich waters.
The archipelago of 7,641 islands is, after all, best known for its
postcard-perfect seaside destinations and all the tropical dream
details usually associated with it: fresh coconuts and arguably
the world's sweetest mangoes, sumptuous grilled seafood and
the finest snorkeling and diving enclaves in the northern end of
the Coral Triangle.
But, far from being just an ideal holiday destination, the
Philippines is a planner's dream, with its equally impressive and
wide-ranging offerings of top-class MICE (meetings, incentives,
conventions and exhibitions) facilities and five-star venues.
Over the years, the national government, in partnership with
private entities, invested heavily on improving MICE-related
infrastructure across the country. Metro Manila, in the National
Capital Region, is home to three of its largest convention
centers, the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC),
the SMX Convention Center Manila and the World Trade
Center Metro Manila, as well as an array of world-class hotels.
Multiple growing airport hubs — from Clark, Manila, Cebu,
Davao to Iloilo — have likewise greatly improved accessibility
for travellers, both international and domestic, to various parts
of the country.
