SEVERAL INDUSTRY EVENTS HAPPENING AT THE SCORE EXHIBIT DURING THE LUCAS OIL OFF-ROAD EXPO SCORE International will have a significant presence at the 20th annual Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo at the Fairplex in Pomona, California on Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th. The SCORE Baja 1000 exhibit area will once again, be in Building 5 of the fairgrounds to offer desert-racing fans the opportunity to interact with top off-road racing teams, while viewing the most radical motorsports vehicles ever developed. Show hours of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on September 28th, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 29th. SCORE BAJA 1000 COURSE REVEAL Scheduled for at 3 p.m. on Saturday September 28th, the SCORE Baja 1000 Exhibit will be the location for the reveal and distribution of the 52nd SCORE Baja 1000 race course map. This year’s SCORE Baja 1000 will start and finish in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico and race week festivities are scheduled for November 19th through the 24th 2019. SCORE RACING INTO HISTORY II BOOK SIGNING The SCORE Baja 1000 Exhibit includes book signing sessions with past and present off-road racers and champions of the SCORE Baja 500, who are celebrating the launch of the new 432-page hard-cover book entitled Racing Into History II. This new book is a pictorial celebration of BFGoodrich Tires 50th SCORE Baja 500 in 2018. Racing Into History II compliments last year’s SCORE Baja 1000 50th anniversary book for a magnificent two-book set showcasing the history and the legend of the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Organization. Autograph sessions are scheduled from Noon to 2 p.m. both days of the show, with additional opportunities for signing during the Off-Road Expo Vendor Party taking place on Saturday, September 28th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. SCORE / STAND 21 SAFETY FOUNDATION SAFETY DEMONSTRATION Taking place from 10am to 11am September 28th at the SCORE Baja 1000 Exhibit is the SCORE/Stand 21 Safety Foundation Demonstration. The demonstration will provide practical information, advice, and demonstrations of safety equipment that is useful in both off-road racing and off-road recreational activities. Veteran racer Danny Ebberts will share the details of his horrific fuel fire during a SCORE Baja 1000 race to help others learn important safety measures to prevent fire accidents. Beyond fire protection, attendees will gain important information about concussions, heat stress, hydration, neck protection and the value of quick emergency response, thru a lively demonstration and discussion session led by Yves Morizot and Don Taylor, the President and Director of the Stand 21 Safety Foundation. Improving safety for drivers and teams has been a prime objective since Roger Norman took over the SCORE International racing organization seven years ago. He has teamed-up with the Stand 21 Safety Foundation for several previous seminars to educate SCORE racers on how they can be more proactive in their own protection.
