Welcome to the USEA Annual Meeting & Convention
and 60th Anniversary Celebration!
We are all excited to welcome you to return to the
birthplace of American eventing, and on behalf of
the entire United States Eventing Association, we
want you to be dazzled by this landmark anniversary
through the diverse events and educational forums
that have been lined up.
Like the city of Boston, our sport has had many evolutions but remains at its core
strong, exciting, and unique. The history that grips Boston from the Paul Revere
House and Faneuil Hall to the remarkable dynasties preserved in the Museum
of Fine Art and all of the nooks and crannies of the city that can only be enjoyed
on foot, out in the elements, perhaps in the cold, make this the perfect location
to celebrate this special anniversary for our sport. Area I remains fiercely proud
of our own events that have withstood the tide of change with over 40 years
of competition: Huntington Farm (VT), University of New Hampshire (NH),
Groton House Farm (MA), Millbrook (NY), Kent School (CT), Green Mountain
Horse Association (VT), Hitching Post Farm (VT), and Genesee Valley Combined
Training Association (NY).
As you walk between the various meetings and forums, take the time to make a
connection. Thank an organizer, ask a question of an official, and know that the
USEA is a collection of some of the smartest, most generous, and kind members
of any equestrian sport, and I'm confident no one will hesitate to answer your
question or help you connect a dot! For those of you who had friends back home
who were unable to come and visit, I hope you extend this note of welcome and
encourage them to reach out, volunteer, and thank a landowner, organizer, or
owner for their generosity.
Warmly,
Sarah O'Sullivan, Chair Area I
