10 Sugar Producer JANUARY 2020 Off the Top News and Updates from the Sugarbeet Industry Beene Takes New Role with Corteva Britt Beene has been named strategic account manager within Corteva Agriscience. He will remain based in south-central Idaho. In his new role, Beene will focus on building relationships with farming operations throughout Idaho. In his previous role as Corteva territory manager, Beene focused on retail crop protection companies in eastern Idaho. "Large farms have their own unique needs from crop protection companies like Corteva," says Beene. "Working with farmers, I can assist with recommendations and put together specific pest management programs with products like Vydate C-LV, Blackhawk, Transform and Telone. I'll also have the opportunity to conduct on-farm field trials with existing and soon-to-be- registered products." Beene has been with Corteva since the merger of Dow AgroSciences and DuPont Crop Protection in 2018. 2375-6DesertSunset16h.indd 1 9/30/19 1:27 PM Ag World Golf Classic Donates over $100K Producers, processors and industry businesses donated $101,680 to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Inland Northwest at the 6th Annual Ag World Golf Classic held on June 12 at in Kennewick, Wash. Ag World Support Systems was again joined by co-hosts Simplot, Lamb Weston, McCain Foods and Potato Growers of Washington. Through the generosity of these event hosts, 136 sponsors and donors, and 144 golfers, the 2019 event was a huge success. RMHC Inland Northwest provides temporary lodging, comfort and support for families with children receiving medical services and supports related efforts to improve children's health in the region. The 7th Annual Ag World Golf Classic will, for the first time, take place at two locations in 2020. The first will be June 2 in Kennewick, Wash.; and the second will be June 4 in Moses Lake, Wash. Registration opens in January at www.AgWorldGolf.com. Ag World Support Systems' Warren and Judy Henninger present a check for $101,680 to Ronald McDonald House Inland Northwest's Michael Forness. Britt Beene Varner, Adamson Join Vive Crop Protection Jonathan Adamson Vive Crop Protection announces that Mark Varner of Davison, Mich., has joined the Vive team as key account manager. Varner will be working with distributor head office and regional distributor account staff to develop and create market demand to support Vive's unique product offerings. Varner is a graduate of Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in crop and soil science. Jonathan Adamson of Pocatello, Idaho, is now Western regional sales manager at Vive Crop Protection. Adamson is working with retailers and growers across the Pacific Northwest to develop and create market demand for Vive's unique product offerings. He was recently a sales rep in southeastern Idaho for Nutrien Ag Solutions. Prior to that, Adamson was a crop sales consultant for large-scale potato, sugarbeet, alfalfa and small cereal crop growers. He also owned his own custom application business and has operated a biofuels business. Mark Varner
