AND BY SHARON'S STUDIO OF GLOUCESTER. Most of us look at the New Year as a clean slate—a time to make resolutions, set goals, and hit the gym. And how many of us have failed at sticking to our grand plan? I know for myself, I look at the New Year with such hope and optimism, and that expectation is even more heightened this year as it is not only a new year but also a new decade. I know from years past that I have every good intention of sticking to my resolutions: getting more exercise, eating more salad, and drinking a little less wine... but in the end, I find an excuse for why I can't stick to my goals and they fall by the wayside. This year I have a whole new outlook on the idea of setting goals and sticking to them, as I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Janelle Monteiro of Body Ambition in Middleton through the article titled "Chefs in Shape" we wrote for the November issue. Janelle has been the trainer for Boston Chops chef/owner Chris Coombs for a number of years. I love how he described his training with Janelle to me. He explained that it was not about building muscle so much as creating balance and mental clarity in his life; the muscles are just a by-product. Chris says the training ultimately helps him be a better boss— and a better person. I love this sentiment. You can read Janelle's very sage advice on the last page of this issue. I'm going to take her recommendations to heart this January and try to follow her guidance. In this issue we also receive excellent counsel from five people who have dedicated their careers to helping North Shore women and men achieve healthy, glowing, and hydrated skin. Dawn Tardif of BodiScience Wellness Center & Spa takes a holistic Zen-like approach to treating her clients' skin. Michelle Doran of RN Esthetics is an expert at her craft of healing skin and helping her clients look their best. Gabriela Varoudakis of Suite Six Medical, Dayle Ciampa of Dayle's European Skin Care & Med Spa, and Steven Florio of Pyara also remind us of some basics we often forget when it comes to taking care of our skin. Turn to page 56 to read more. Finally, we want to congratulate the Best of the North Shore 2020 Wedding Award winners in this issue! The winners in the categories of best gown, cake, florals, caterer, and more are listed on page 60! Wishing you peace and prosperity and success achieving your resolutions in 2020. Cheers, Nancy E.
