GOING THE DISTANCE A Record Total Of 47 Racers Earn The 2019 Rod Hall SCORE Milestone Award Presented by VP Racing Fuels By SCORE Journal Staff Photos By Get Some Photo If finishing one SCORE race is difficult enough, imagine the difficulty of finishing all four races of the 2019 SCORE World Desert Championship season. A record 47 racers earned the Rod Hall SCORE Milestone Award Presented by VP Racing Fuels. Not every racer can complete all 2,025.43 miles of the 2019 SCORE World Desert Championship Season due to mechanical failures, bad luck, or hundreds of other things that can go wrong in an entire season. That’s why these racers have earned to have their names among the elite who have persevered and had a team that kept them going to reach the finish line of every race. “SCORE is privileged to honor the world’s best desert racing drivers and riders,” said Jim Ryan, SCORE Sales and Marketing Director. “For over three decades, SCORE has been very humbled to honor racers with the Rod Hall SCORE Milestone Awards presented by VP Racing Fuels. SCORE racers are the toughest, most rugged racers on the planet. This most prestigious award has become iconic in our sport. It is also a distinct privilege for us to honor the memory of one of the greatest desert racers of all time by adding Rod Hall’s name to this highly-prized award. And we are grateful to VP Racing Fuels for stepping up to help honor these racers as well.” During the 2019 season a total of 47 racers, the highest in SCORE history, have earned this award from 18 classes. At the SCORE Awards Night, 47 racers from 18 different classes, (the highest in SCORE history), were honored for their achievement in completing the 2019 SCORE San Felipe 250, The BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 500, The Lucerna SCORE Baja 400, and the 52nd BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 Presented by 4 Wheel Parts.
