McKinney has worked in all but one of the Vegas Caesars Entertainment properties and is cognizant of the huge responsibility of the new venue. "Coming into this opportunity, you have the chance to create the ideal world. We have a blank slate here and are evaluating the best practices from all of our properties and working to incorporate them into our convention procedures." McKinney will lead a team of nine senior convention managers. About 60 per cent have been with Caesars for now many years. He recently finished the exhaustive search for 150 new personnel who will make up the banquet staff for the huge ballrooms. The enormous scale of the property, its functionality and the ease of load-in with nine dedicated docks are just a few of the new features that McKinney knows planners will appreciate. "We will be introducing Ivy—a text message concierge currently in place at Caesars Palace—for planners to communicate with staff immediately to address any operational concerns at CAESARS FORUM." In addition to the building, McKinney is eager to see how the Forum Plaza will be utilized for group events. The sky's the limit with the blank canvas of the outdoor terrace "it will be exciting to see how planners will incorporate that space into their plans."
