2020 FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE BY EJ HOLLAND Darion Green-Warren was already supposed to be in Ann Arbor. The four-star cornerback out of Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne took the necessary classes to be an early enrollee at Michigan. However, there was a slight issue. Green-Warren completed an online class too close to the Christmas break, and his pa- perwork was not turned in on time. "I should be there by early May," Green-Warren said. "That's what I'm shooting for. One of my online classes took forever, so that just slowed down the entire pro- cess. I don't have all the m o n t h s I was supposed to have, but I'm look- ing forward to finally enrolling and getting to work, so I can compete." Green-Warren revealed his com- mitment to Michigan live at the All- American Bowl in San Antonio in early January. He picked the Wolver- ines over offers from Florida, Geor- gia, Oregon, Penn State, USC and others. Despite the early enrollee snafu, Green-Warren has had time to reflect on his choice and still feels like he made the right call. "I'm really happy about my decision," Green-Warren said. "Michigan has always been one of those top teams in the country. The defense always makes plays. Coach [Jim] Harbaugh and Coach [Michael] Zordich always put people in the league. Being able to play for them and go to Michi- gan was a blessing. Having the opportunity to play early was just another advantage." His tech- nique and physicality is hard to ignore, though, and that will be a big factor for him getting play- ing time as his career continues.
