www.SugarProducer.com 11 News and Updates from the Sugarbeet Industry Agencies Launch Website for Biotech Regulation On Jan. 9, the USDA, FDA and EPA launched a Unified Website for Biotechnology Regulation. The website streamlines information about the three regulatory agencies charged with overseeing agriculture biotechnology products and is part President Donald Trump's Executive Order on Modernizing the Regulatory Framework for Agricultural Biotechnology Products. The Unified Website for Biotechnology Regulation describes the federal review process for certain biotechnology products and allows users to submit questions to each of the three agencies. The goals of this website are to provide enhanced customer service to innovators and developers, while ensuring Americans continue to enjoy the safest and most affordable food supply in the world and can learn more about the safe use of biotechnology innovations. Krieger to Service Eastern Corn Belt for Helm Agro Helm Agro US, Inc., a global manufacturer of high-quality crop protection and fertilizer products, announces the hiring of Jeff Krieger as regional sales manager for the eastern Corn Belt. In his new position, Krieger will be responsible for crop protection product sales and supporting the company's distributor, retailer and grower networks in the states of Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Krieger holds bachelor's degrees in both agronomy and agricultural economics from Ohio State University. He currently resides in Fredericktown, Ohio, and can be contacted at jkrieger@helmagro. com. Michigan Sugar Company Elects New Directors Two new faces have joined the Michigan Sugar Company board of directors, two outgoing directors were recently honored for their service, and a new slate of board officers—including a new board chairman—has been elected. New to the board are Dean Haubenstricker and Mike Leen. Both were elected to serve four-year terms during Michigan Sugar Company's annual meeting held Jan. 9. Also re-elected for another four-year term is incumbent director Warren Bierlein. Following the annual meeting, officers were elected to serve for the coming year.
