The safe, supportive group training environment keeps costs down and motivation high, as skaters acquire new skills, develop good practice habits and learn the fundamentals of off-ice training alongside their peers. "We can help introduce more skaters to the different disciplines and programs offered, like synchronized skating, Theatre On Ice, and ice dance, in addition to singles skating," Williamson said. "The Aspire program can show these athletes the different ways they can be involved, there is something for everyone. It will create a strong pipeline into different programs offered through the facility or club, like a synchro team, ice dance program or hockey team, keeping more skaters in the building and on the ice." U.S. Figure Skating employed six membership growth consultants to help rinks, clubs and programs across the country implement their own Aspire program. "I am most excited about working with each skating community in my area to see how they can implement the Aspire program so that their pipeline has a natural progression and provide affordable programming to skaters who 'aspire' to greatness," said consultant Charis Sloan. "As a consultant, I am enormously grateful for the opportunity to serve in a supportive role for the Aspire program. As a skater and coach, I am grateful for the time and energy put into filling in the gap in our system." The full suite of turnkey resources will be available to Aspire programs online this spring.
